Preclinical retinal imaging system installed in Hong Kong

Imagine Eyes is pleased to announce the installation of a new preclinical retinal imaging system at the Center for Eye and Vision Research (CEVR) in Hong Kong.

The instrument, developed in collaboration with researchers at the University of Waterloo in Canada and Hong Kong Polytechnic University, is a laser scanning ophthalmoscope that employs adaptive optics technology to enhance image resolution down to the cellular level.

Dr. Ben Thompson, CEO and Scientific Director of CEVR, stated, “This new system will be an invaluable tool for CEVR’s collaborative programs that develop new retinal therapies, as it allows us to visualize and target individual cells and microscopic blood vessels in living retinas.”

On behalf of the Imagine Eyes team, we would like to express our gratitude to Jennifer Hunter, Marin COR, Nicolas Lefaudeux, Melanie Campbell, Ben Thompson and Donna Strickland for their essential contributions to the success of this joint endeavor.
