First installation of an adaptive optics retinal camera in Northern Ireland
Imagine Eyes’ team is proud to announce that Queen’s University Belfast, Northern Ireland, United Kingdom is now the owner of an rtx1-e Adaptive Optics Retinal Camera. The new imaging device has been installed at the university’s Northern Ireland Clinical Research Facility (NICRF), at the Belfast City Hospital.
Research teams at the NICRF, including Professor Tunde Peto’s team will be using this imaging modality for epidemiological studies and clinical trials. “We expect to generate new knowledge that will be instrumental in establishing normal values for a wide variety of age group and contribute to diagnosing and treating retinal pathologies” says Professor Peto.
