Euretina 2021 – Retinal imaging beyond photoreceptor cells

This year at Euretina 2021, users of Imagine Eyes’ rtx1 adaptive optics retinal cameras will report a number of new and extraordinary explorations and findings.

Beyond photoreceptor cells – Recent improvements in AO technology have enabled direct examinations of the retinal pigment epithelium (RPE) mosaic with cellular resolution.

Beyond retinal structure – AO cameras have allowed deeper assessments of retinal function, including retinal blood flow* and neuro-vascular coupling**.

Equally exciting and important, investigations with the rtx1 in inherited retinal diseases (IRD) have resulted in early detection of cellular-level phenotypes, and invaluable information on the natural progression of cell loss.
